Stan Melton is a founder of the Missouri State Hockey Club as well as a founder of the Springfield Citizens Committee that advocated the construction of a recreational ice facility before Jordan Valley Ice Park (now Mediacom Ice Park) opened ten years ago. Stan devotes his efforts to the off-ice operations of the Ice Bears team, including scorekeeping, business operations, sponsorship sales, media relations and general team operations.
A native of Cassville, Stan is a graduate of the University of Missouri and is retired from Mediacom in Springfield. He is involved in a number of community activities, including serving as Steering Committee Chairman of the Ozarks Music Festival fall event, which raises funds for the Springfield Boys and Girls Clubs and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Stan also served as campaign consultant with the Tom Flanigan for State Representative campaign in the Carthage area. He is an avid hockey fan who attended 20 to 30 professional games a season before devoting his time to the Missouri State program. Stan serves as a WebSportsRadio.Com commentator during road games. He is married to Cindy McCall-Melton.
